CosMart Fiesta 2015 At Avenue K

Comic Fiesta, Malaysia’s premier animation, comics and games event held annually at Klang Valley returns with its ever-popular cosplay event to spread its unique brand of excitement and entertainment at Avenue K Shopping Mall who are also the Event Sponsor. The event will be held at the concourse of Level 3 and 4 of Avenue K as part of the Japanese Fair.

Avenue K is a perfect venue for CosMart as its easily accessible to all our attendees in the heart of KL and they were very proactive in searching for new events. We had a great time working with them and we’d like to thank Avenue K for all their support and advice.

There has been an influx and uptrend of young Malaysians who are very into cosplay and everything and anything anime. Hence, we were very excited to be part of this event. “Visitors can also expect an amazing variety of cosplays at CosMart. The event is expected to host approximately 4000 pax and 200-300 cosplayers in costume,” added event director, Angeline Giam. Cosplay refers to the performance art of dressing up and acting as a fictional character, which has gained great popularity in Malaysia in recent years.

CosMart, short for cosplay market, is an annual event in its third year now. CosMart aims to bring together cosplayers to celebrate their hobby as well as serving as a jumping off point for new cosplayers to join in. The signature cosplay market is a chance for everyone to get items for their costumes from trusted sources within the community itself.

Cosplay is a growing niche in Malaysia and CosMart is dedicated to pushing the standards of cosplay in Malaysia by exposing Malaysians to popular talented cosplayers from around the world. This year, Ely from Taiwan will be the main international cosplayer. Ely will be complemented by equally talented local cosplayers Jerry, a master at designing props and Angie, herself a popular cosplayer regularly featured in regional events.

CosMart will also have two cosplay competitions to whet the appetite of fans with amazing prizes. Beyond just cosplaying is putting together a great photoshoot for your character and the Behind-The-Scenes Photography Competition highlights the work photographers and cosplayers do to create the perfect shot. To round them off is the fun Cosmic Star singing competition for people to unwind.

There will be cosplay workshops for fans to learn from the best on the scene. Ely will be taking people through on how to turn a cosplay concept into reality. Jerry will be detailing how to make exquisite props and Brian Lim, a photographer will be showing his amazing talent at composing photos.

CosMart will also be a chance for anime lovers to stock up on merchandise and other goodies from exhibitors at the event. Stage games, performances and many more activities are in store as well.
